New PFU survey indicates worrying commitment to paper
A new PFU study reveals that UK households hold an average of 5,681 sheets of paper, totalling more than 160 billion sheets across the country. Despite 66% of respondents admitting that they are unlikely to use the paper again, 61% would be concerned if they lost their documents. Paper piles are also widespread across Europe, with Italians, Germans, Spaniards and French also storing large amounts of paper. The survey indicates emotional attachment to paper, with 68% of respondents feeling stressed by clutter and 76% keeping paper items as a precaution.
