Fujitsu announces the winners of the Fujitsu Quantum Simulator Challenge
From February to September 2023, Fujitsu conducted the ‘Fujitsu $100,000 Quantum Simulator Challenge,’ a global competition inviting industry and academic community members to test Fujitsu’s 39-qubit quantum simulator on new problems and applications. Fujitsu officially announced the four winning teams of the competition during the Fujitsu Quantum Day winner’s ceremony held on January 25, 2024, at the De Oude Bibliotheek academy in Delft, Netherlands. A total of 43 startup teams and universities from 17 countries and regions submitted entries. Participants in the quantum simulator challenge developed various advanced applications using the Fujitsu quantum simulator. All these use cases underscore the power of quantum computing to contribute rapidly and accurately to solving societal problems.
