DOCOMO, NTT, NEC and Fujitsu Develop Top-level Sub-terahertz 6G Device Capable of Ultra-high-speed 100 Gbps Transmission

Docomo, NTT, NEC and Fujitsu have jointly developed an advanced 100 Gbps ultra-high-speed transmission device in the 100 GHz and 300 GHz bands. Each company contributed unique expertise: Docomo focused on wireless transmission equipment in the 100 GHz band, NTT developed 300 GHz band equipment, NEC designed a multi-element active phase antenna, and Fujitsu advanced semiconductor technologies for energy efficiency, achieving the world’s highest energy efficiency in a high output amplifier.

This progress aims to meet the increasing information and communication requirements in the 6G era. Going forward, the four companies will continue to conduct extensive R&D into sub-terahertz telecommunications, leveraging each company’s strengths in various initiatives to contribute to 6G standardization.
